Experience

Brame's Music Co

I started working with my dad in his vending / amusement machine company where I was taught “people skills” at a young age. My jobs were sales, route man (counting money out of machines), and repair and delivery of Juke Boxes, Pinball machines, and Video Games. Working with electronics and listening to the music over and over as I put records on Juke Boxes helped me tremendously with my career today.

Favorite Memory:

I remember as a kid having to stand in chairs to put new records on my dads Juke Boxes.

Michael B's Disco Show

As a teenager several of my friends were in bands but all I'd ever known was how to play records…So in the early days of disco I used my friends P.A. systems, borrowed some records from my dads Juke Boxes, set up in his club on the nights there wasn't a band and my career was born. After a few weeks playing for free, I bought my first real sound system and went on the road…to the “other club” across town for my first paying “gig”. I did my first weekend gig at the “other club”, loaded up equipment and before I had the U-Haul back to the rental station the club manager called wanting me to play all the following week. I played the next 6 nights and I realized that in eight nights I had made all but $50.00 of my initial investment back .

Favorite Memory

My dad thought I was the biggest nut, buying more records, big speakers and tupe amps. But, thanks to the business knowledge he taught me growing up and his borrowed records, I made him proud of me and my new business.

Michael B's Muzik Karaoke & Video

In 1981, I moved to Nashville , lived on Music Row and attended Broadcasting & Video production School . By graduation two years later our instructors had made it clear; “to make it in the broadcasting business you had to leave the big city, start in the small towns and work your way back to the large markets”. I had a better idea, live in the big city and keep traveling around the country playing in all the cities. By this time Disco was dead but the disc jockey form of entertainment was here to stay. I changed my business name to “MICHAEL B'S MUZIK” (the phonetic pronunciation), incorporated everything I had learned in school to make myself more professional and kept polishing a DJ Show that has taken me from L.A. to Orlando and Cincinnati to Burbon Street and won national awards.

Favorite Memory:

In one four-week period I played in Tennessee , California , Kentucky and Florida , and drove every mile of the way seeing the U.S.A. .
